{"id":690903,"date":"2026-07-14T09:58:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T09:58:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/690903\/"},"modified":"2026-07-14T09:58:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T09:58:13","slug":"rocco-shein-portsmouth-sign-estonia-international-midfielder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/690903\/","title":{"rendered":"Rocco Shein: Portsmouth sign Estonia international midfielder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Pompey have signed Estonia international midfielder Rocco Shein from Norwegian side Fredrikstad for an undisclosed fee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 23-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at Fratton Park and becomes the third new player to join the club this summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Shien has played 25 times for his country since making his debut against Albania in 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He began his career with Estonian side Flora and played in Europa League qualifying and in the Europa Conference League.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He went on to join Dutch side Utrecht in January 2022 and had a spell with Dordrecht before joining Fredrikstad in January 2025, helping them finish eighth in the Norwegian top flight last season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;He will provide us with plenty of physicality in the centre of the pitch, but is also someone who is very comfortable on the ball,&#8221; Portsmouth manager John Mousinho told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portsmouthfc.co.uk\/\" class=\"ssrcss-1fqyhkk-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">club website, external<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Rocco has already made a great deal of progress over the past few years and is still young, so we feel he can continue to improve with us.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Pompey have signed Estonia international midfielder Rocco Shein from Norwegian side Fredrikstad for an undisclosed fee.
