A security breach that caused huge delays to Jay-Z\u2019<\/a>s third consecutive night in Yankee Stadium has been caught on video. Watch below.<\/p>\n

Sunday night (July 12)\u00a0marked his third night at the venue, with the evening billed as \u2018Extra Innings\u2019<\/a>, the follow-up to his previous \u201830\u2019 and \u201825\u2019 shows that celebrated the anniversaries of his \u2018Reasonable Doubt\u2019 and \u2018The Blueprint\u2019 albums.<\/p>\n

However, fans faced a nearly-four-hour delay after some audience members reportedly rushed the gates ahead of the gig starting<\/a>. As a result of them getting past security without being screened, a full lockdown of the stadium was enforced, with fans not allowed in or out for an extended period of time.<\/p>\n

When Jay-Z did take to the stage, four hours after the listed start time, he told them that he \u201cappreciated your patience\u201d and promised that he had \u201cgot some shit for you\u201d.<\/p>\n

Now, footage of the incident has been released, which seems to confirm the breach of at least one turnstile at the stadium. In the footage, several concertgoers are seen breaching a turnstile, with several individuals becoming stuck in the entryway as a huge crowd seems to be pushing them forward.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear if those seen in the video are ticketholders or if they are unticketed fans attempting to gain entry.<\/p>\n

The video also shows security and New York Police Department officers rushing over to the entrance to stop a potential stampede. There have been no injuries reported during the concert.<\/p>\n

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani has also addressed the delay and said he will look into the matter. Speaking yesterday (Monday July 13), he said: \u201cLast night is something that we\u2019re going to follow up on, because I know that there are many New Yorkers who were delayed after a breach of security by those who didn\u2019t have tickets, and then it resulted in a multiple-hour delay for many others. So, that\u2019s something we\u2019ll follow up on.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he condemned the security incident, he also praised the NYPD\u2019s immediate response during such a chaotic situation.<\/p>\n

Mamdani also added that Jay-Z\u2019s \u2018The Blueprint\u2019 was the first album he ever owned, explaining that by listening to it, he \u201clearned about the importance of freedom of expression.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the first night,\u00a0Beyonc\u00e9 joined him onstage during the concert\u2019s first song, singing Mary J. Blige\u2019s part on \u2018Can\u2019t Knock the Hustle\u2019<\/a>, and that concert also featured guest appearances from their daughter Blue Ivy Carter, as well as Nas and Alicia Keys.<\/p>\n

Night two, a celebration of the 25th anniversary of his \u2018Blueprint\u2019 album, featured guest spots from\u00a0Eminem<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Pharrell<\/a>, with the huge gigs following the announcement that Jay-Z\u00a0will be hitting London later this year<\/a>\u00a0as part of a trio of gigs celebrating his 30-year legacy.<\/p>\n

Following the delays, night three saw him bring out<\/a> Rihanna<\/a> among even more special guests.<\/p>\n

He has previously announced concerts in Paris and Los Angeles<\/a>, on September 10 and October 23, and recently added to that list with a show in London\u2019s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 4.\u00a0It will mark his first concert in the UK in over a decade \u2013 and you can find your tickets\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The rapper returned to the stage for a rare solo performance last month,\u00a0headlining Roots Picnic 2026 as his first festival date in seven years<\/a>\u00a0and breaking out some of his biggest hits.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

That set also saw him take aim at\u00a0Nicki Minaj<\/a>,\u00a0Drake<\/a>,\u00a0Kanye West<\/a>, and more in a freestyle.<\/p>\n

There have been rumours that Jay-Z is working on a new album, which will be the follow-up to 2017\u2019s \u20184:44<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 swirling for years now, although friend and collaborator\u00a0Cash Cobain<\/a>\u00a0recently put a dampener on hopes for new material, saying that the rapper told him recently that he is \u201cabsolutely not dropping an album\u201d anytime soon (via\u00a0X<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, it was confirmed Jay-Z\u00a0and\u00a0Eminem<\/a>\u00a0will reunite on\u00a0Rakim<\/a>\u2018s upcoming\u00a0new album \u2013 marking their first collaboration in 25 years<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The two rap legends last appeared on the same track on 2001\u2019s \u2018Renegade\u2019 from Jay-Z\u2019s \u2018The Blueprint\u2019.<\/p>\n

Now, they\u2019re set to join forces once again on a currently untitled song, which will appear on a forthcoming collaborative album from Rakim, Kurupt and Masta Killa, due for release on August 28.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Jay-Z\u00a0shared the original version of the \u2018Reasonable Doubt\u2019 single \u2018Dead Presidents\u2019 on streaming platforms for the first time<\/a>.<\/p>\n
