Oh, and Jens Voigt is in the UK causing all sorts of chaos.<\/p>\n As pro cycling retirements go, Luke Rowe’s is going down the well-trodden path of transitioning to the role of sports director, doing some TV work and releasing an autobiography.<\/p>\n In June, Rowe published ‘Road Captain’, the story of his career, which we’re presuming doesn’t involve any anecdotes detailing all of the different yoghurts David Rozman was trying to get ordered to Team Sky Tour de France hotels, or expanding on his now-deleted view<\/a> that Nairo Quintana is a “little f**king rat”.<\/p>\n But if you’re in need of Luke Rowe-shaped F-bombs, don’t worry! The audiobook version’s editor has been caught asleep at the wheel, accidentally including an outtake in the published recording, voiced by Rowe himself, where he mispronounces Froomey (four-time Tour de France champion and very good friend of David Rozman) as Fromey (delightful Somerset town in the West of England).<\/p>\n “The peloton had passed us and the team cars were starting to arrive, meaning Yogi [Ian Stannard] received medical attention very quickly,” Rowe reads out, in a clip<\/a> posted to social media. “Meanwhile, up at the front, Fromey \u2013 Fromey … fuck’s sake.”<\/p>\n Yes, as the proprietors of an ever-burgeoning corrections corner, we await the latest point of the finger from our audience. But in the world of Big Book Publishing, standards should be slightly higher than our bi-weekly dissection of weird cycling news.<\/p>\n Behold! Patrick Lefevere’s sandwich thirst trap!<\/p>\n It is the ugly privilege of anyone with a decently sized social media following to publicly complain about products and services that don’t live up to their expectations.<\/p>\n So when Lefevere got on his third French TGV train of the month and completed his triptych of imperfect journeys, it was time to unleash all hell onto the timeline, accompanied by a photo of the sort of sandwich Ron Weasley took on the train for his first trip to Hogwarts.<\/p>\n One question remains: what are these “mega problems” he experienced in first class?<\/p>\n This post is for paying subscribers only Already have an account?
