Having retired from the sport, Terence Crawford<\/a> looks unlikely to ever make a comeback, but \u2018Bud\u2019 has now been warned that he will lose his undefeated record if he does opt to make a return and take on one unified world champion.<\/p>\n

Crawford hung up the gloves after a legacy-defining victory over Canelo Alvarez<\/a>, walking away from the sport with his undefeated record intact and as the only three-division undisputed world champion of the four-belt era.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the Omaha-born icon continues to be linked to a lucrative rematch with Canelo<\/a>, as well as a potential scrap with newly-crowned unified super-welterweight world champion Jaron \u2018Boots\u2019 Ennis, who dethroned WBA and WBO titleholder Xander Zayas last month.<\/p>\n

Crawford was somewhat critical of that Ennis performance<\/a>, insinuating that he would have had little issue dispatching of the Philadelphian.<\/p>\n

Ennis has now responded during an interview with The Pivot Podcast<\/a>, saying he believes Crawford has little genuine interest in a fight that could derail what both he and \u2018Bud\u2019 have described as the \u2018Boots\u2019 era.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor sure, [that is a fight that I want] but he has retired. Yeah, he is talking, but he is retired. He isn\u2019t saying, \u2018do you want to fight?\u2019, he is retired so let him enjoy his retirement. Like he said, \u2018this is the Boots era,\u2019 he said it himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cA couple of my homies sent it to me, \u2018it is the Boots era,\u2019 he knows. It\u2019s different over here.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is definitely a big fight if he was to return, but if he returns I\u2019ll beat him, but then they [the fans] are going to be like, \u2018oh, he was old,\u2019. There is always going to be something.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
