Peter Farrelly\u2019s upcoming biographical drama \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/i-play-rocky\/\" id=\"auto-tag_i-play-rocky\" data-tag=\"i-play-rocky\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">I Play Rocky<\/a>\u201d will answer the question as \u201cGrand Army\u201d actor <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/anthony-ippolito\/\" id=\"auto-tag_anthony-ippolito\" data-tag=\"anthony-ippolito\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anthony Ippolito<\/a> takes on the role of Stallone in this behind-the-scenes dramatization of the making of the classic 1976 sports drama.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe official synopsis for \u201cI Play Rocky\u201d from Amazon MGM reads: \u201cThe film tells the true story of Sylvester Stallone and his unshakable belief that he wasn\u2019t just meant to write Rocky, he was meant to be Rocky Balboa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe film\u2019s supporting cast includes Stephan James as Carl Weathers, plus AnnaSophia Robb, Matt Dillon, Toby Kebbell, Tracy Letts Jay Duplass and Robert Morgan. Farrelly, who directed Best Picture winner \u201cGreen Back,\u201d returns to more dramatic territory with \u201cI Play Rocky\u201d following his R-rated Amazon comedies \u201cRicky Stanicky\u201d and \u201cBalls Up.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIppolito has experience playing acting icons of the 1970s. He starred as Al Pacino in the Paramount+ limited series \u201cThe Offer,\u201d which recounted the making of \u201cThe Godfather.\u201d Now he takes on the role of Stallone, who famously got \u201cRocky\u201d made for under $1 million. The movie became the biggest box office hit of 1976 and won the Oscar for best picture. After cementing its place in Hollywood history, the original \u201cRocky\u201d spawned several sequels as well as the \u201cCreed\u201d spinoff series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI Play Rocky\u201d opens in theaters this November from Amazon MGM.
