Raymond Ford repeatedly insisted during the final press conference on Thursday that his replacement opponent, Abraham Nova, isn\u2019t on his level for their 10-round super featherweight contest this Saturday, August 16th, on DAZN PPV<\/a> in Riyadh.<\/p>\n

Nova (24-3-1,17 KOs), who arguably should have only one defeat on his resume, was brought in as the replacement after Anthony Cacace pulled out of the fight. During the press conference, Abraham \u2018Super\u2019 Nova angered Ford (17-1, 8 KOs) by saying that he\u2019s going to be taking the judges out of play to avoid another controversial defeat.<\/p>\n

Childish Confrontation at Presser<\/p>\n

The Eddie Hearn-promoted Ford, 26, got worked over the comment from Nova, and said over and over he wasn\u2019t on his level. The back and forth between them sounded childish after a while. The moderator should have stepped in and broken it up to get them focused on different questions.<\/p>\n

You can\u2019t rule out a victory for Nova because he does well on fighters that lack power, and Ford is not a big puncher.<\/p>\n

\u201cI took this fight because I\u2019ve been active and I\u2019m in shape. I didn\u2019t want to sit on the couch. They gave me the call. I felt it was the perfect style for myself,\u201d said Abraham Nova during today\u2019s final press conference<\/a> for his fight against Ray Ford on Saturday night in Riyadh.<\/p>\n

Abraham Nova\u2019s Judges Comment<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Raymond is a hell of a fighter, but I feel I belong on that stage with the elites. If you guys have been following my career and know my story. I\u2019ve had some tough decisions and tough losses. 2025 is my year to turn things around. I feel this is going to be a great victory for myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s be real. We know he\u2019s not knocking me out. I don\u2019t even know why he\u2019s trying to hype himself up to even believe in that,\u201d said Ray Ford. \u201cYou know what I\u2019m coming with. I know what he\u2019s coming with, and he\u2019s simply not on my level. I\u2019m going to show that I\u2019m the best fighter he\u2019s ever been in the ring with.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a fighter. He\u2019s supposed to feel like that. All fighters feel like they\u2019re on different levels,\u201d said Nova. \u201cI\u2019m glad he\u2019s confident himself. I\u2019m confident in myself, and we\u2019ll see on Saturday night.\u201d<\/p>\n
