Update [Thu 16th Jul 2026, 3:15pm]: The first big update for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced<\/a>, which brings the PS5 remake up to version 1.04, is available to download now. My PS5 has just pulled the patch, so it’s rolling out now.<\/p>\n

Original Story: Ubisoft has detailed the first major post-launch update for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced<\/a>, which’ll be available to download on PS5 from tomorrow, 16th July 2026.<\/p>\n

PS5 players can expect a 2.44GB patch to download, and the initial list of patch notes reads like plenty of fixes, tweaks, and improvements. There’s nothing particularly major to pick out besides better “performance and stability”.<\/p>\n

I recommend you pick up AC Black Flag Resynced, having awarded the PS5 remake an 8\/10 score last week. “It\u2019s as you remember it, except better, bigger, and markedly flashier in all the right ways. Assassin\u2019s Creed: Black Flag Resynced demonstrates there\u2019s still a charm to staying faithful,” I said.<\/p>\n

General<\/p>\n

Fixed multiple save\/load issues.
\nFixed various localization issues for Simplified Chinese, Italian and Arabic.
\nFixed a dubbing issue that was affecting voiceover playback and cutscene visuals in localized versions.
\nImproved performance and stability.
\nFixed an issue on PC where Cutscenes are locked at 30 FPS when graphics settings are set to \u2018Custom\u2019.
\nFixed multiple lighting issues when players are indoors or in caverns.
\nDuring the battle with El Tiburon, it might be unclear for some players on how to break his defense. We have added hints for players on how to break it.
\nFixed an issue where players can double jump when advanced parkour option is turned on.<\/p>\n

Gameplay<\/p>\n

Fixed issues where players can clip into the ship\u2019s hull while swimming.
\nFixed an issue where players are locked out when attempting to move immediately after exiting a mini game.
\nFixed an issue where the ally would stop moving if players were to assassinate their kill.
\nFixed an issue where players can get stuck harpooning if they start Boarding immediately after starting Harpooning.
\nFixed an issue where Civilians are entering Brawl zones.
\nFixed an issue where players are unable to dodge the fatal Humpback Whale\u2019s Tail slap during Harpooning.
\nFixed an issue where players do not go back into aiming if they are hit by an enemy while aiming with “Rope Dart” and “Smoke Bomb”.
\nFixed an issue where upgrading the Jackdaw while docked can cause it to disappear, leaving players without their ship.
\nFixed an issue where Edward\u2019s hands have no movement while playing the mini game.<\/p>\n

World<\/p>\n

Fixed various Animus walls issues.
\nFixed various Fast Travel issues.
\nFixed various issues where players are able to reach locations they shouldn’t be able to access.
\nFixed the issue where the weather never becomes foggy.
\nFixed floating bushes by grounding them to the world.
\nTweaked weather system balancing to increase the proportion of sun and clear skies.<\/p>\n

UI\/Menu<\/p>\n

Fixed an issue where players can get stuck in Desynchronization screen when opening and closing the menu repeatedly.
\nFixed an issue where Location activity icons on the Map disappear after rebooting the game.<\/p>\n

Visuals & Graphics<\/p>\n

Fixed various minor graphical issues.
\nFixed a visual issue for some Hideout ship models.
\nFixed various character clipping issues.
\nFixed various clothes clipping issues.
\nCorrected texture issues on some side characters.<\/p>\n

Audio<\/p>\n

Fixed an issue where killing an enemy will cause a single body drop to sound like multiple bodies dropping.<\/p>\n

Quests<\/p>\n

\u201cRift: Wayward Desires\u201d: Fixed an issue where players will miss the second zipline when falling from the first.
\nFixed an issue where \u201cImagine my surprise\u201d and \u201cThe Commander’s Ruse\u201d cannot be completed at the same time.
\n\u201cThe Other Brother\u201d: Fixed an issue where Upton can be assassinated early.
\n\u201cThe Observatory\u201d: Fixed an issue where your allies do not arrive together with Roberts.
\n\u201cA governor no longer\u201d: Fixed an issue where players are unable to progress due to being stuck by the Animus wall.<\/p>\n
