While Echo and the Bunnymen<\/a> have been a steady presence on the road for years, the English rockers have yet to release an album since 2014\u2019s Meteorites<\/a>. That will change on September 18 with Apples for Isaac, their first LP in 12 years. Check out the animated video for first single \u201cBrussels Is Haunted\u201d below.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mighty, legendary Clem\u00a0Burke\u2014longtime friend of Mac\u2014was integral to the making of the album and heartbreakingly passed away<\/a> during\u00a0its completion\u2026 love you Clem X,\u201d the band wrote in a statement.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Mojo<\/a>, Echo co-founder and lead singer Ian McCulloch spoke further about the long delay between albums. \u201cWhat kept us? I think Covid had something to do with it,\u201d he said. \u201cBut also I just wanted, lyrically, for everything to make sense\u2014or to be cryptically important. Which is a hell of a sentence.\u201d McCulloch added that \u201cmore than any other record I can remember, it\u2019s actually sounding how I heard it in my head. I\u2019ve just gone, sing it how you want to hear it.\u201d<\/p>\n
