{"id":696778,"date":"2026-07-17T14:42:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T14:42:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/696778\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T14:42:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T14:42:13","slug":"trio-sentenced-for-substantial-brothel-network-across-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/696778\/","title":{"rendered":"Trio sentenced for &#8216;substantial&#8217; brothel network across England"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Three people have been sentenced for running a &#8220;very substantial&#8221; network of brothels disguised as massage parlours. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Liu Xu Hopkins, 56, Benjamin Hopkins, 57, both of Staple Hill, South Gloucestershire, and Khondakar Hasan, 40, of Leicester, pleaded guilty to controlling prostitution for gain in November. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">They were found to have run six premises across the country, including in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Berkshire, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, and had moved women between the parlours. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">His Honour Judge Townsend, presiding over the hearing at Swindon Crown Court, sentenced Liu Xu Hopkins to 24 months in prison, while Benjamin Hopkins and Khondakar Hasan were each sentenced to 18 months. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">However, as they have all been in custody since being arrested in October 2025, they will be released. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Three people have been sentenced for running a &#8220;very substantial&#8221; network of brothels disguised as massage parlours.
