{"id":696917,"date":"2026-07-17T16:26:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T16:26:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/696917\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T16:26:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T16:26:25","slug":"henry-brookes-gloucestershire-sign-fast-bowler-from-middlesex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/696917\/","title":{"rendered":"Henry Brookes: Gloucestershire sign fast bowler from Middlesex"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Gloucestershire have signed fast bowler Henry Brookes from Middlesex on a three-year deal from next season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 26-year-old initially joined the Bristol club on loan for the beginning of this season but his spell was cut short because of a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He returned to Middlesex where he will continue until the end of the season at which point he will officially become a Gloucestershire player.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The right-arm seamer hit a career-best innings of 89 as Gloucestershire beat Derbyshire by 10 wickets in April.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s been a quiet period for me, but I&#8217;m looking forward to getting back out on the pitch and showing people what I can do,&#8221; Brookes <a href=\"https:\/\/gloscricket.co.uk\/news\/henry-brookes-signs-three-year-deal-with-gloucestershire\/\" class=\"ssrcss-1fqyhkk-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told Gloucestershire&#8217;s website., external<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Head coach Jon Lewis added: &#8220;I&#8217;ve known Henry for a long time. We toured India together with the England Under-19s back in 2017. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;He was a high-potential fast bowler back then, and we still see him as a bowler with a huge amount of potential now.
