{"id":697216,"date":"2026-07-17T20:02:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T20:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/697216\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T20:02:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T20:02:09","slug":"bristol-father-of-five-follows-dream-to-become-nurse-at-64","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/697216\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol father-of-five follows dream to become nurse at 64"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A 64-year-old who recently graduated as a nurse says he hopes his journey shows you are never too old to get a degree.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">John Adesoye, who grew up in Nigeria, worked as an electronics technician in Greece before moving to the UK in 2013 and deciding on a career change.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The father-of-five has now secured a nursing role at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where he started working as a healthcare assistant in 2014.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;If I can do it, others can too.
