In an exclusive interview, Kirandeep Kaur’s family say they want “justice” following her death and for her body to be returned home to her village in India, ITV News’ Helen Keenan reports. <\/p>\n

The mother of a 24-year-old woman stabbed to death while she slept in bed with her baby has said she wants “justice” for her daughter’s death and for her body to be returned home to India.<\/p>\n

Kirandeep Kaur was allegedly attacked by a stranger while sleeping in bed next to her husband and three-month-old baby<\/a> shortly before 8am at her home in Hayes on July 12.<\/p>\n

She suffered a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at 8.26am. <\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with ITV News, Kirandeep’s grieving family said they want help repatriating her body so she can be laid to rest in her home village of Piddi, in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district. <\/p>\n

Kirandeep’s mother, Baljeet Kaur, told ITV News: “We send them somewhere safe to study then this happens.<\/p>\n

“We didn’t realise hooliganism and violence is happening there too.<\/p>\n

“We want justice, we want our daughter’s body returned from Hayes.”<\/p>\n

Kirandeep had been living in the UK since 2024 on a student visa. <\/p>\n

After completing her studies, she had begun working and was looking forward to building a life in the UK.<\/p>\n

Kirandeep’s brother, Gurvinder Singh, spoke of the family’s devastation at hearing the news of her death. <\/p>\n

“We found out today [Friday, July 17] that she died,” he said. <\/p>\n

“We were shocked, we don’t understand what we can do.”<\/p>\n

Mr Singh said the family don’t have anyone who can bring her body back home to their village in Punjab. <\/p>\n

He described her as “very nice, well-spoken” and “kind-hearted”. <\/p>\n

Daniel Sean James, 44, was charged with murder, attempted murder and having a blade on Thursday. <\/p>\n

A GoFundMe page has been set up by the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall Gurdwara to help raise money for Kirandeep’s funeral arrangements and the the repatriation of her body to India and for her family.<\/p>\n
