For the first time since they started tracking activity levels in 2008, participation in at least once in a sport or fitness activity in the past year reached 80 percent. That\u2019s 247.1 million people in the U.S. getting moving.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"1\" class=\"css-i9p093 emevuu60\">One modality that has been encouraging Americans to sweat? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/a65178460\/does-pilates-prevent-osteoporosis-bone-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/a65178460\/does-pilates-prevent-osteoporosis-bone-health\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Pilates\" data-node-id=\"1.1\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pilates<\/a>. It\u2019s seen the biggest uptick in popularity over the past five years, according to the report. If you notice your studio has been increasingly busy lately, it&#8217;s because since 2019, participation in pilates has grown from 9.2 million people to 12.9 million. That\u2019s a nearly 40 percent change.  <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"2\" class=\"css-i9p093 emevuu60\">For comparison, the second fastest growing modality, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/g24033579\/yoga-poses-for-beginners\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/g24033579\/yoga-poses-for-beginners\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"yoga\" data-node-id=\"2.1\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">yoga<\/a>, increased by 23.6 percent, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/a65101600\/100-kettlebell-swings-a-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/a65101600\/100-kettlebell-swings-a-day\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"kettlebells\" data-node-id=\"2.3\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">kettlebells<\/a> at 21.2 percent and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/a26346087\/what-is-barre\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/a26346087\/what-is-barre\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"barre\" data-node-id=\"2.5\" class=\"body-link css-7bauu1 emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">barre<\/a> at 19.1 percent.
