Turning a sub-$1 million budget into over $400 million to date<\/a> is just one of the many amazing results of Barker’s genius, with hopes that the Academy might recognize the film in 2027, especially Inde Navarrette<\/a>‘s star-making performance, which Collider’s Hannah Hunt<\/a> calls “one of the year’s best” in her review<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Not only is Obsession the highest-grossing non-animated original film of the past decade and the only genre film in cinema history to stay in the box office top ten for over 40 days in a row, but it is now the tenth highest-grossing horror movie of all time. The latter feat is made even more impressive when considering the huge, big-budget franchise horror<\/a> films it has now outgrossed, including a divisive 2025 sequel that is about to make its way to a new streamer.<\/p>\n

Starting August 3, you will be able to stream Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s 2<\/a> on Netflix in the U.S. Following on from the huge success of Blumhouse\u2019s Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s<\/a> in 2023, which is based on the lore-filled viral horror games<\/a> by Scott Cawthon, the sequel released to a similar box office triumph, turning a $51 million budget into a global haul of $239 million. Once again starring Josh Hutcherson<\/a> as Mike, the sequel follows him and Abby (Piper Rubio) as they deal with the aftermath of the original Freddy Fazbear\u2019s chaos. Matthew Lillard<\/a>, Skeet Ulrich<\/a>, Mckenna Grace<\/a>, Elizabeth Lail, and Wayne Knight also star in this horror sequel that was torn apart by critics, but found success with audiences.<\/p>\n
