{"id":699955,"date":"2026-07-19T12:57:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T12:57:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/699955\/"},"modified":"2026-07-19T12:57:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T12:57:13","slug":"boy-13-dies-and-woman-in-hospital-after-m4-crash-in-wiltshire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/699955\/","title":{"rendered":"Boy, 13, dies and woman in hospital after M4 crash in Wiltshire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A 13-year-old boy has died after a two-vehicle crash on a motorway on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Wiltshire Police said the crash happened at about 20:00 BST on Saturday between junctions 16 (Swindon) and 17 (Chippenham) of the M4 westbound.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The teenager was a passenger in a Toyota RAV-4 which was in a collision with a Renault van.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A woman who was also a passenger in the Toyota is being treated in hospital for serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The driver of the van and car were not seriously injured, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The force wants any witnesses or people with dashcam footage to contact officers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Emergency services closed the westbound carriageway after the incident, and the traffic on the eastbound carriageway was later held for two hours to allow air ambulances to attend the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">National Highways said all lanes reopened on the M4 in both directions between the two junctions earlier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A 13-year-old boy has died after a two-vehicle crash on a motorway on Saturday.
