F1<\/a> may be in the midst of its summer break, but news on a potential return to this European country was announced today. Along with that, there has been talk about how much money Lewis Hamilton<\/a> has brought to Ferrari<\/a> since joining, and Flavio Briatore has come under fire as Alpine continues to struggle.Could the Portuguese Grand Prix<\/a> be back on the F1 calendar for the 2027 season.<\/p>\n

It was announced by Lu\u00eds Montenegro, the Prime Minister of Portugal, that the pinnacle of motorsport will be back at the\u00a0Portim\u00e3o Circuit, noting that official documentation is pending.<\/p>\n

“We have secured the organisation of the MotoGP, the royal class of motorsports worldwide, for 2025 and 2026. And I can tell you that we have everything ready to officially make the return of Formula 1<\/a> to the Algarve in 2027,” said the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

There have been plenty of struggles for Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari before arriving at the summer break, with no Grand Prix wins or podiums for the seven-time world champion, although he did win the Italians first ever Sprint.<\/p>\n

However, away from the track, the partnership that Hamilton and the Scuderia have is rumoured to have brought in profits that reach an excess of \u20ac50 million.<\/p>\n

According to the report of the Italian medium, thanks to the signing of Hamilton, many sponsors have come to the Prancing Horse, as well as merchandise sales have skyrocketed thanks to the 40-year-old.<\/p>\n

Alpine continue to struggle near the back of the F1 grid, and that has resulted in Flavio Briatore coming under fire from Ralf Schumacher.<\/p>\n

Briatore returned to F1 in June 2024 as an executive advisor for Alpine, but after temporarily taking over as team boss after the dismissal of Oliver Oakes, the French team currently sit P10 and last in the constructors’ championship with 20 points.<\/p>\n

“I think the time for figures like Flavio is over.
