{"id":703710,"date":"2026-07-21T17:14:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T17:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/703710\/"},"modified":"2026-07-21T17:14:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T17:14:09","slug":"golfers-awarded-for-saving-mans-life-on-winchester-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/703710\/","title":{"rendered":"Golfers awarded for saving man&#8217;s life on Winchester course"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The incident happened at Leckford Golf Course in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hampshirechronicle.co.uk\/local-news\/stockbridge-news\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Stockbridge<\/a> on January 26 last year, when a golfer suffered a heart attack shortly after playing a shot.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Two other golfers there at the time, John Allen from Brentwood and Andrew Hart from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hampshirechronicle.co.uk\/news\/eastleigh\/?ref=au\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Eastleigh<\/a>, rushed to help.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mr Allen began CPR while Mr Hart ran to the clubhouse to get a defibrillator.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  When Mr Hart returned, he took over chest compressions while Mr Allen used the defibrillator to deliver a shock.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Andrew Chapman, secretary of the Royal Humane Society.
