A teenage girl tragically died just one day after a planned gender reveal for her unborn baby.<\/p>\n
Summer Rose Miles, 17, collapsed at home and suffered a catastrophic brain haemorrhage on Thursday (July 9), before an air ambulance critical care team rushed to the scene before she was driven to hospital<\/a>.<\/p>\n There, while on life support, on what should have been the day of a gender reveal celebration, she delivered her tiny baby, who was born sleeping.<\/p>\n The mum-to-be had emergency surgery but the damage to her brain stem was too severe. Her loved ones were then forced to say the hardest goodbye of their lives.<\/p>\n Her devastated older sister, Chloe Jade, has now started a GoFundMe page to help heartbroken parents, Mandy and Scott Miles, pay for a funeral they could never have imagined having to organise.<\/p>\n Summer Rose Miles tragically died unexpectedly(Image: Chloe Jade)<\/p>\n She spoke exclusively to The Mirror<\/a> about how incredible her brave, fearless and bold little sister was.<\/p>\n In an emotional conversation with this reporter, Chloe, 27, who grew up with the family in Top Valley in Nottingham, said: \u201cShe couldn\u2019t wait to be a mum. She has said this since I remember her playing with dollies.<\/p>\n \u201cShe loves children so much, and although young, and it was a shock for everyone, we know she\u2019d have been the best mummy ever, and everyone was looking forward to the next chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n After school, Summer excelled in college, which is where she met Carson, her boyfriend and best friend.<\/p>\n According to Chloe, getting pregnant changed her massively, and she instantly matured and gained a different outlook on life.<\/p>\n Summer pictured with her mum Mandy (Image: Chloe Jade)<\/p>\n Looking back fondly, she recalled: \u201cShe had a different light about her \u2014 it was beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n But in a cruel twist, Summer, who had been 17 weeks pregnant, died on July 12 \u2014 and her siblings and parents remain utterly in shock.<\/p>\n Asked about the brain haemorrhage, Chloe told us: \u201cThe doctors said it was spontaneous, tragic and rare, especially in her age and pregnancy<\/a>. Summer was otherwise fit and healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n Chloe said the heartbreak and pain of saying goodbye to Summer was impossible to put into words.<\/p>\n Summer and Carson\u2019s baby gender reveal was due to take place on July 11 \u2014 just two days after she collapsed.<\/p>\n Her family and friends had been invited over for the reveal and Summer, who was the most excited, had been convinced it was going to be a girl.<\/p>\n Summer pictured with her dad Scott (Image: Chloe Jade)<\/p>\n Chloe said: \u201cThe gender reveal decorations and plans were all prepped by my mum, following a private scan gifted to her from her boyfriend’s family who would have also attended.<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately the scan never had a chance to happen. One of the last things Summer told my mum was that she was thankful for how nice she had made the garden look for her big day outside.\u201d<\/p>\n Chloe said Summer had a particularly close bond with her mum and she described her little sister as being her mother\u2019s shadow.<\/p>\n Remembering her sibling, she said she was a \u201cwhirlwind of chaos and laughter\u201d and hugely popular with friends, as reflected in the many tributes since her untimely death.<\/p>\n Chloe has fond memories of road trips, seaside visits and sibling tattle tails with Summer who she also described as being a \u201clittle rebel\u201d with \u201cyoungest child syndrome\u201d.<\/p>\n One of their favourite shared hobbies was spending time with horses \u2014 and Summer left behind her own pony called Princess, which was the present she got on her seventh birthday.<\/p>\n Summer with her pony called Princess (Image: Chloe Jade)<\/p>\n However, Chloe pointed out: \u201cShe would always want to ride my Rosie, because she loved a challenge!\u201d<\/p>\n Growing up, Summer always said she wanted to be like her older brother, Jordan, who was her biggest protector.<\/p>\n Chloe said Summer was a bit of a tomboy when she was younger but this soon changed when she would find her walking around in high heels she had taken from her wardrobe.<\/p>\n She also used to enjoy swimming with her dad as a child and she would cheer him on from the sidelines when he played football.<\/p>\n One of Summer\u2019s favourite things to do was spending time with her niece, Ava, who she shared a beautiful bond with, something Chloe said she will always be grateful for.<\/p>\n During family car journeys, Summer would insist on playing drum and bass, despite everyone else calling it \u201crubbish music\u201d.<\/p>\n Laughing, Chloe added: \u201cWe went to a Coldplay and Oasis tribute a few weeks back and she sang her heart out to Coldplay with us and it was so special.<\/p>\n Summer (middle) with her sister Chloe (right) and her niece Ava (left) (Image: Chloe Jade)<\/p>\n \u201cWhen she first told me her new favourite song was Yellow, we sent a video singing it together to her dad to show how far she\u2019d come with her music taste.\u201d<\/p>\n Tragically, that fun, bubbly and bright character, who had no filter, is now no longer with us.<\/p>\n And while Chloe reflected on the special memories, she and her family are also going through hell, by having to arrange a final farewell for Summer.<\/p>\n![\"Summer](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1784664310_513_0_Girl-17-who-couldnt-wait-to-be-mum-dies-day-after-planned-gender-reveal-party.jpg\")
