Coronation Street<\/a> fans flocked to social media with their thoughts on DC Kit Green’s latest remarks as the tension between him and DS Lisa Connor-Swain grows.<\/p>\n

As those who follow the ITV<\/a> soap know, Kit is now doing everything he can to try to get his girlfriend, Sarah Platt, in the clear after she was arrested for the murder of Theo Silverton.<\/p>\n

It’s what she has been trying to avoid for months, with the builder’s demise taking place back in April, but during Monday’s (July 20) edition of Corrie, Sarah found herself being placed into cuffs before being questioned at the police station by Lisa over the abuser’s death.<\/p>\n

As Corrie fans are aware, builder was revealed as the murder victim months after viewers first learned that Theo was among the five villains at risk of being killed off during an episode of Corrie in February, which featured flashforward scenes showing Lisa’s daughter, Betsy Swain, being interviewed by the police about finding the dead body of someone she knew.<\/p>\n

Theo’s death, which came after he tried to torment Todd one last time, was revealed a week after Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain’s wedding aired, with the murder taking place on the night of the history-making occasion, and soon after, a murder investigation was launched.<\/p>\n

At the time, Todd was confirmed as a suspect by Corrie, along with George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass and Danielle Silverton.<\/p>\n

But it was last month that it was revealed to viewers that it wasn’t any of the six, as it was Sarah who appeared to deal the blow that sent a drunk Theo tumbling off the scaffolding outside his flat and plummeting to the ground – before she called on her former flame, Gary Windass, for help.<\/p>\n

Corrie fans later watched as Sarah confessed the truth to Todd, while Kit remained determined to pin Theo’s murder on Gary, not realising that he had been covering for Sarah. That was until she confessed to her copper beau last week, just as he was trying to pop the question.<\/p>\n

And her world came crashing down this week as despite Kit’s attempts to help cover up her crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo. Down at Weatherfield police station, Lisa interrogated Sarah before providing evidence that they had found splatters of Theo’s blood on her clothing from the wedding, after her clothes were taken in as evidence from her own attack by Jodie Ramsey, which came after Theo’s murder took place.<\/p>\n

During the follow-up episode of Corrie on Tuesday (July 21), Lisa was seen questioning Sarah again, who continued to protest her innocence. But it made no difference as they had no choice but to charge Sarah with Theo’s murder.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the detective also made it clear to Kit that Sarah is their prime suspect and that he is also suspicious that he helped his partner cover up the murder after he was spotted trying to get his hands on Sarah’s clothes from the evidence store.<\/p>\n

Lisa warned him that if he wanted to keep his career, he needed to stop trying to protect Sarah. Kit didn’t take too kindly to Lisa’s comments, bringing up her own past, particularly with her ex-wife, Becky Swain. But later, Kit advised Sarah to plead self-defence and tell everyone that Gary forced her to cover up Theo\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Despite Sarah’s ongoing drama, Corrie fans were fuming at Kit’s comments towards Lisa and flocked to social media to comment. @missmollybruton said: “‘She helped saved Carla from Becky remember, or does that not count for anything?’ Kit bringing this up when he knows that Sarah did kill Theo is awful. Yes, Sarah helped back then, but it doesn’t change the here and now and it certainly doesn’t mean Lisa has to ignore the facts.”<\/p>\n

@Izzy1728047 commented: “Twice today he threw Becky back in her face. He\u2019s got a nerve. Lisa already knows better than anyone the damage Becky caused to her life & what Lisa nearly lost because of Becky\u2019s actions. So for kit to use that to defend himself, is out of order #Swarla.” @_AIison_ noted: “Kit, I’m struggling to see how you saving Carla (and yes, thank god you did!) automatically means that Lisa should you let your girlfriend off a murder charge #Swarla #Corrie.”<\/p>\n
