Activision\u2019s overpriced Call of Duty: Black Ops<\/a> ports have sold like crazy on the PS5, with Circana analyst Mat Piscatella<\/a> revealing both games breached the organisation\u2019s Engagement Tracker for the week ending 11th July.<\/p>\n

This data is accurate for the United States, and takes into account total weekly players on Sony\u2019s consoles. It\u2019s a way of monitoring the performance of evergreen games, like Fortnite<\/a> and Roblox<\/a>, which unsurprisingly occupy the top three slots.<\/p>\n

Black Ops 2<\/a> debuted in sixth position, while the original Black Ops managed ninth. It\u2019s worth noting they\u2019re the only two new games to break into the list; the rest is occupied by familiar names, like GTA 5<\/a>, Minecraft<\/a>, and Marvel Rivals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Late last week, a podcast featuring YouTuber Mystic<\/a> revealed Black Ops 2 had 5.25 million players in the United States, with the original Black Ops managing 1.9 million.<\/p>\n

That data comes courtesy of Sony\u2019s new player tracker widget, which is still currently in beta. There\u2019s a little scepticism surrounding how accurate this data is, but paired with the Circana results and PS Store<\/a> best-sellers list, we can safely conclude these games sold very well<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Both titles launched as digital exclusives with DLC sold separately. But we questioned the value proposition in our reviews, considering Activision is selling these for $40 a pop with no improvements \u2013 they\u2019re even victims to the old exploits which plagued the original PS3 releases<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It seems most players don\u2019t care, though: expect these ports to be among the best-selling PS5 games of the year<\/a>.<\/p>\n
