Brooke Henderson had one of the best off weeks of her career last week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Canadian golf superstar announced Sunday she and long-time boyfriend Ricky Castro had gotten engaged on July 14.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe beginning of forever,\u201d the pair captioned a post on Instagram. \u201cWe are beyond excited and blessed to announce our engagement with one another!\u201d<\/p>\n
Henderson has just come off a tremendous two-tournament stretch where she finished tied for third and second, respectively, at back-to-back major championships and was home in Florida for a week with the LPGA Tour having a break in its schedule.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It\u2019s been a summer of happy news for the Henderson family, as Brittany Henderson, Brooke’s sister and her husband welcomed a daughter, Sahalee, on June 25.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Henderson was in Edmonton on Monday for the media day of the 2026 CPKC Women\u2019s Open, where she will be the defending champion at Royal Mayfair Golf Club in August.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Castro is a minor-league baseball pitcher for the St. Paul Saints, part of the Minnesota Twins system. He holds a 5-1 record in 2026, the first year he\u2019s been promoted to triple-A.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The pair met by chance almost two years ago when Brooke and Brittany had a rare Sunday of practice at their club in southwest Florida and Castro was also there with some of his teammates. They began dating in March 2025. \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI travel for a living, and all the demands that come (with it) mentally and physically. And so it\u2019s been really cool to learn about his sport too. Being a pitcher and a golfer, there are a lot of similarities, and I feel like we\u2019ve been able to learn from each other and support each other, which has been really nice,\u201d Henderson told Sportsnet.ca in November of their relationship.\u00a0<\/p>\n
