\n\tSacha Baron Cohen<\/a>\u2018s secret Ali G<\/a> movie, titled \u201cAli G: Who Iz I?\u201d, has been officially unveiled by the comedian and Amazon MGM Studios. It will release in theaters Oct. 23. Cohen directed the movie, marking his feature directorial debut.<\/p>\n

\n\tCohen posted a video in on his Instagram<\/a>, fully in character as Ali G, announcing the movie Wednesday. \u201cDey haz finally made a documentary about me,\u201d he wrote in his exaggerated London rude boy slang. \u201cAnd it ain\u2019t dat crap one about da penguins, dis one haz got at least twice as much animal sex. \u2018Ali G: Who Iz I?\u2019 Cominatcha on 10.23 wotever dat means.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCohen filmed the movie secretly, just like he did for his \u201cBorat\u201d comedy in 2006 and its 2020 sequel. He originated the Ali G character for Channel 4\u2019s \u201cThe 11 O\u2019Clock Show\u201d in 1998 and reprised the fictional Londoner in his own \u201cDa Ali G Show\u201d in the early 2000s. Cohen starred as the character in the 2002 film \u201cAli G Indahouse,\u201d directed by Mark Mylod.<\/p>\n

\n\tLike his Borat character, Cohen interviews people on the street as Ali G and often gets himself into hilarious and cringe-worthy situations with unknowing victims. He\u2019s interviewed the likes of Noam Chomsky, Andy Rooney and Newt Gingrich, who were all bewildered by the fake character.<\/p>\n

\n\tOutside of Borat and Ali G, Cohen has recently appeared in the Marvel Disney+ series \u201cIronheart,\u201d playing the demon Mephisto. He\u2019s also starred in the 2026 comedies \u201cLadies First\u201d and \u201cBalls Up.\u201d He earned an Oscar nomination for best adapted screenplay in 2020 for his \u201cBorat Subsequent Movie Film\u201d sequel after nabbing one for the first \u201cBorat.\u201d He was up for best supporting actor in 2021 for \u201cThe Trial of the Chicago 7.\u201d<\/p>\n
