(Photo by David Rogers\/Getty Images) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"expand\" src=\"https:\/\/eu-cdn.rugbypass.com\/images\/common-svg\/select-arrow.svg\" height=\"6\" width=\"11\"\/>      <a href=\"https:\/\/google.com\/preferences\/source?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rugbypass.com%2F\" onclick=\"GATracking.sendDataLayerEvent(&#039;preferredsourcegoogle&#039;);\" aria-label=\"Google Prefered Source\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/google_preferred_source_badge_light.png\" alt=\"Google Prefered Source\" width=\"141\" height=\"44\" class=\"google-source\"\/> <\/a>     <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/scotland\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scotland<\/a> have ditched their controversial heather away strip in favour of a more traditional alternative white kit for the 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n<p>The heather strip was introduced in September 2022 and divided opinion among Scotland supporters, with many wrongly believing it to be pink in colour.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t take much for users of X to get shirty and the social media platform was awash with negative comments when it was launched.<\/p>\n<p>However, the new away strip is unlikely to get such an ice-cool reaction, despite the design apparently reflecting the climate and mountainous terrain of the country, according to the SRU\u2019s press release,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRooted in the topographical make-up of the country, the white kit is embellished with Scotland\u2019s wild mountain terrain, a nod to its 282 Munros and thousands of lesser peaks that run from the south-west of Stranraer to the Shetland Islands and all the rugged land between,\u201d Scottish Rugby explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith white shorts and socks a further bow to the notion of \u2018ice\u2019, Scotland\u2019s international away kit is rugged and robust, like the country it represents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Scotland-away-jersey-e1784712997660.jpg.webp\"  class=\"lazy\" alt=\"Scotland away kit\" width=\"766\" height=\"431\"\/>Scotland\u2019s Freddy Douglas and Alex Stewart model the new away kit.
