Former long-reigning heavyweight ruler, Wladimir Klitschko<\/a>, is believed to be contemplating a comeback, hoping for a record-breaking return to the heavyweight throne. Now, former opponent, Tyson Fury<\/a>, has offered his thoughts on \u2018Dr. Steelhammer\u2019s\u2019 potential title bid.<\/p>\n

Klitschko has not fought since he was knocked out by Anthony Joshua<\/a> at Wembley Stadium when he unsuccessfully challenged for the IBF and WBA (Super) heavyweight world titles over nine years ago.<\/p>\n

That defeat came 18 months after the end of his nine-year second stint atop the heavyweight division, which was famously ended by Fury in D\u00fcsseldorf<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, last month, the now 50-year-old posted a picture with former Oleksandr Usyk<\/a> manager Alex Krassyuk captioned, \u2018something big is coming\u2019<\/a>, insinuating that he may fight again and possibly break George Foreman\u2019s iconic record as the oldest heavyweight world champion.<\/p>\n

Already, boxing manager Spencer Brown has declared his interest in a fight between Klitschko and newly-crowned WBC heavyweight titleholder, Agit Kabayel<\/a>, whom he manages, believing that the event could be huge in Germany.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think there are a couple of fights out there for Klitschko. I think number one would be Agit Kabayel in Germany. Could you imagine that? Fighting for a WBC world title, which he held for a long time? It would be a historical fight and it would be huge. You wouldn\u2019t have a stadium big enough to fill that in Germany \u2026 That would be the oldest fighter ever to try and regain his title, wouldn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, speaking to Seconds Out<\/a>, Fury labelled Klitschko\u2019s rumoured return as \u2018crazy\u2019 and put it down to \u2018addiction\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is crazy to think that, after the good career that he has had, now he wants to return at 50 years old back to boxing to win another world title. It\u2019s an addictive thing, more addictive than drugs, I suppose.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fans are waiting further details as to whether Klitschko\u2019s comeback will be made official, whilst Fury fights 46-year-old Mariusz Wach tomorrow in Pattaya, Thailand, in search of his second win of 2026.<\/p>\n
