{"id":707792,"date":"2026-07-23T22:13:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T22:13:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/707792\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T22:13:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T22:13:15","slug":"young-donegal-golfer-makes-ulster-interprovincial-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/707792\/","title":{"rendered":"Young Donegal golfer makes Ulster Interprovincial Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A talented young Donegal golfer has been selected for the U16 Ulster Interprovincial Team.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie O&#8217;Hora (15) from Ballybofey was this morning confirmed on the team that will compete in the 2026 Underage Interprovincial Championships which take place at Holywood, County Down, next week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Representing Ballybofey &amp; Stranolar Golf Club, he was selected following a number of exceptional performances in the Golf Ireland series this year. Charlie, who turned 15 last month, is the only boy from Donegal to make the seven-strong Ulster team. The non-playing captain has been confirmed as Diarmuid Logue of Portsalon Golf Club.<\/p>\n<p>Back in April, O\u2019Hora was pipped for the title at the prestigious Ulster U16 Close Championship by eventual winner, experienced Irish international Jack Conroy who has also been named on the Ulster squad. <\/p>\n<p>Last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donegaldaily.com\/2025\/04\/25\/donegal-boy-boosts-european-ranking-with-big-irish-junior-open-win-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Charlie won<\/a> the prestigious U14 Flogas Irish Junior Open Tour at the Lough Erne Resort, Fermanagh. <\/p>\n<p>A student at St Columba\u2019s College, Stranorlar, he no doubt inherited his golfing skills from his proud parents, Joe and Brenda O\u2019Hora.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A talented young Donegal golfer has been selected for the U16 Ulster Interprovincial Team.
