{"id":708839,"date":"2026-07-24T13:10:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T13:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/708839\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T13:10:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T13:10:08","slug":"chris-brown-pleads-guilty-to-affray-over-bottle-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/708839\/","title":{"rendered":"Chris Brown pleads guilty to affray over bottle attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The attack happened at the Tape venue, a private members&#8217; club in Mayfair, on 19 February 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Brown entered his plea at Southwark Crown Court on Friday in a hearing that took less than five minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Judge Tony Baumgartner scheduled the sentencing hearing for the affray charges for both men for 26 October, 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Brown is known for tracks including Loyal, Look At Me Now and With You.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He waved at fans as he arrived at court, flanked by security guards while wearing a beige suit and baseball cap.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Fans played Brown&#8217;s music, held up signs and shouted his name, with the PA news agency reporting that one said: &#8220;I love you Chris&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">At earlier hearings, he was ordered to pay a \u00a35m security fee as part of his bail conditions, which also allowed him to go on a world tour as long as he surrendered his passport on arrival in each country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Last summer, the performer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/czdydj938mvo\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">joked on-stage about his &#8220;nice&#8221; time in jail<\/a> in Manchester as he kicked off his tour at the city&#8217;s Co-Op Live arena.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Thank you for coming and supporting me,&#8221; he said to fans in Manchester. &#8220;And thank you to the jail,&#8221; he joked, referring to a spell in custody after his arrest. &#8220;It was really nice.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The attack happened at the Tape venue, a private members&#8217; club in Mayfair, on 19 February 2023.
