Hull City have completed the signing of Japan international Hidemasa Morita, after leaving Sporting Lisbon.<\/p>\n
Morita has signed a two-year deal at the MKM Stadium, with the option of a third after he turned down a move to Ipswich Town earlier this week.<\/p>\n
The experienced campaigner will join the Tigers at their camp in Slovenia, though he will arrive with a slight calf complaint, which will see him unable to play for the next week or so.<\/p>\n
Morita underwent a medical and signed his contract at the MKM Stadium in Hull earlier this week, and becomes City<\/a>‘s fourth signing of the summer so far, and third this week.<\/p>\n He joins Jack Butland, Oscar Zambrano and Matt Targett in joining the Premier League newboys.<\/p>\n Just the second Japanese player to ever play for the Tigers after Yu Hirakawa’s loan move from Bristol City last season, Morita brings a wealth of experience and pedigree to the MKM Stadium.<\/p>\n Now 31, Morita has 40 caps for his country and played three times at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, though he missed out on this year’s edition in the US, Canada and Mexico.<\/p>\n Throughout a fine career, Morita has amassed more than 350 career appearances, winning back-to-back Primeira Liga titles and the Ta\u00e7a de Portugal during four terrific years in Lisbon before leaving with a hero’s departure back at the end of last season.<\/p>\n A regular in the Champions League, the defensive midfielder helped Sporting reach the last eight of Europe’s premier club competition last season, and he boasts a flurry of games in the Europa League.<\/p>\n JOIN US ON FACEBOOK! City remain in talks with Dutch Ere Divisie side NEC over a deal for the 22-year-old midfielder.<\/p>\n City are also hoping to snap up Burnley midfielder Florentino Lu\u00eds<\/a>, as Hull Live reported on Friday.
