Deniz Camp and Javier Rodriguez reunite on DC Comics’ Next Level title Shadow Of The Bat<\/p>\n

Bleeding Cool certainly suggested it as a strong possibility.<\/a> And now it’s definitive. Announced at the Gotham panel at San Diego Comic-Con minutes ago, Deniz Camp and Javier Rodriguez, fresh from the award-winning Absolute Martian Manhunter, are reuniting on the new DC Next Level title announced last year, but without movement until now, Shadow Of The Bat,<\/p>\n

Part of the canon, it sees Bruce Wayne, Batman, dealing with a large factory explosion in an abandoned Ace Chemicals factory, the same one that created the Joker, and releasing psychogenic chemicals. Batman has to go in and “deal with the new threats” that come out of it\u2026 with a lot of new characters who are all, basically, living in the shadow of the bat\u2026 but intended to complement what Matt Fraction and Tom Taylor are doing in the regular Batman and Detective Comics series.<\/p>\n

Absolute Martian Manhunter was a 12-issue maxiseries launched in March last year by Deniz Camp and Javier Rodr\u00edguez as part of DC Comics’ Absolute line, which saw John Jones, a human FBI agent nicknamed “The Martian” for his detached personality, become psychically bonded with a genuine disembodied alien entity beyond our understanding, and radically recreating the Martian Manhunter for the Absolute Universe. It did rather well. And this is what they’re doing next.<\/p>\n
