An expectant mum who travelled to see Oasis play at Heaton Park went into labour just minutes before they were due to perform.<\/p>\n

Faye Williams, 34, had come all the way from Hull to see the Gallagher’s reunion tour at Heaton Park<\/a> on July 12.<\/p>\n

But Faye had to miss the concert as she went into labour just as the first support act walked on.<\/p>\n

After scoring tickets for the gig last year mum-of-two Faye found out she was pregnant, and her due date was July 11 – the day before the concert.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince we got the tickets, I\u2019d become pregnant and the due date was the day before the concert was taking place,” said Faye.<\/p>\n

“We decided to risk it, you only live once and we were never going to get the experience of seeing Oasis reform in their home city ever again.<\/p>\n

“We absolutely love Oasis and this was going to be up there with one of the best events of our lives, outside of our kids.”<\/p>\n

After driving down from Hull with her husband Steve, her sister and brother-in-law, and two friends Faye sat by the first aid tent, noting that there seemed to be a few other expectant parents there as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was already sat by the first aid tent as it was in the shade, there were plenty of other pregnant women there too,” said Faye, “It seems like we\u2019d all had the same idea.”<\/p>\n

Faye and her husband also brought down a few supplies, just in case, but said there were “absolutely no signs” that their daughter was about to arrive.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d waited a long time for Oasis to get back together – It all seemed perfect -the weather<\/a>, the park, Oasis,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve been waiting so long and were so ready to be there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had absolutely no signs I was ready to give birth, I have had a child before so knew what to expect, but it all went from zero to one hundred so quickly.<\/p>\n

“As Cast came on, I went off.”<\/p>\n

Faye was taken off to North Manchester General Hospital where she safely gave birth to a healthy baby girl after being in labour for two and a half hours.<\/p>\n

At the moment, the new arrival has not been named, but some suggestions have included the Oasis-inspired “Sally” and “Lyla”.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo many locals came together to help us, we\u2019re so grateful to them all,” said Faye.<\/p>\n

“I may have missed the entire Oasis concert I\u2019d been waiting for my whole life, but I gained a daughter \u2013 which still feels like a win.”<\/p>\n

Emma Coulton, Head of North Manchester General Hospital\u2019s Saint Mary\u2019s Midwifery Service, praised Faye’s handling of the situation.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cFaye did extremely well considering the unexpected circumstances. Faye remained focused, and she proceeded to have a very quick birth.<\/p>\n

“We are delighted for the family and wish them all the very best, they were all lovely and it was a pleasure to provide care for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

After her adventure Faye and the little one are now safe back at home in Hull.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWe didn\u2019t know the gender, but we are incredibly happy to welcome a beautiful baby girl into our family.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve since tried to get new tickets to go to this weekend\u2019s performances, but unfortunately it\u2019s been impossible to get any.<\/p>\n

\u201cNaturally now I have told everybody about the birth, all my friends have been asking if she will be called Sally or Lyla \u2013 but we still haven\u2019t settled on a name.<\/p>\n
