The Beach Boys<\/a> have rescheduled their remaining summer tour dates to allow Mike Love, the only original member in the touring band, to rest and \u201crecharge\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying for you is the highlight of our summer every year \u2014 especially as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States while saluting the 60th Anniversary of \u2018Pet Sounds\u2019,\u201d a statement shared on Love\u2019s official Instagram page read.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been having a blast out there, and to keep the good vibrations going strong, we\u2019ll be taking a short break to recharge before getting back on the road in September\u2026 Thanks for your love \u2014 we can\u2019t wait to see you back out there for a September to Remember.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement added that all tickets for postponed performances from July 23 through to September 3 would be honoured following their return in late September \u2013 and you can visit here<\/a> for more ticket details.<\/p>\n

Love is the only remaining classic-era Beach Boy still touring following the exit of Bruce Johnston earlier this year<\/a>. As noted by Consequence<\/a>, some have expressed concern for\u00a085-year-old Love\u2019s health after the band played dates across North America and Europe this year.<\/p>\n

After one May 30 concert, a reviewer for Slate <\/a>said Love\u2019s voice was\u00a0\u201creduced to a whisper, all warbled, strange, and barely there\u201d. Days after that review went up, The Beach Boys axed a series of dates due to Love suffering from an unspecified illness. As it stands,\u00a0The Beach Boys will head back on the road on September 24 in Springfield, Massachusetts, with subsequent stops including Cincinnati, Nashville, Calgary, and Orlando.<\/p>\n

In other Beach Boys news, in January, the band shared that they would be releasing their lost experimental album \u2018Adult\/Child\u2019 after almost 50 years<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Their iconic frontman Brian Wilson died last June, aged 82<\/a>. In an obituary,\u00a0NME\u00a0celebrated the singer<\/a>\u00a0as a \u201cculture-defining innovator who represented pop music\u2019s awakening\u201d, adding that his death saw him \u201cleaving behind a legacy of pop symphonies\u201d.<\/p>\n

When news of Wilson\u2019s death was shared, Love shared a statement<\/a>\u00a0that read: \u201cOur journey together was filled with moments of brilliance, heartbreak, laughter, complexity and most of all, LOVE. Like all families, we had our ups and downs. But through it all, we never stopped loving each other, and I never stopped being in awe of what he could do when he sat at a piano or his spontaneity in the studio.\u201d<\/p>\n
