\u201cIt\u2019s tricky behind the sticks, that\u2019s for sure,\u201d chuckled Fin Bean when asked about Kuldeep Yadav and how\u2019s settled into life with Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

India star Kuldeep had a productive debut against Glamorgan at Neath yesterday, contributing two wickets with his left-arm wrist spin and then a useful 12 with the bat as the White Rose scrambled over the line by two wickets chasing 187.<\/p>\n

It was his first of five Metro Bank One-Day Cup appearances, added to three in the Rothesay County Championship at the back end of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His next outing will be against Sussex Sharks at Hove tomorrow (11am) as Yorkshire bid to get on a roll in Group B.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis control and just the subtle changes he has, he\u2019s unbelievable,\u201d said Bean, who took the wicketkeeping gloves at The Gnoll yesterday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe got a lot out of that pitch, which other spinners wouldn\u2019t have, and it shows his class. He was impressive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fast bowler Ben Cliff added: \u201cHe\u2019s definitely a good character, great to have around. He\u2019s got a bit about him. He\u2019s good fun, and having that experience that he has around the dressing room is crucial.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yorkshire travel to Hove for the second year running in this competition. Last August, they won there in a game which saw Matt Milnes claim seven wickets, including a hat-trick. He has since left for Kent.<\/p>\n

Sussex have started with back-to-back defeats, against Glamorgan at Neath on Wednesday and Durham at Banks Homes Riverside last night. The latter came by 72 runs chasing a target of 353.<\/p>\n

Captained by off-spinner Jack Carson, they will also include former Yorkshire batter Jack Leaning. Paul Farbrace is in his final season as coach before taking on a part-time role as director of cricket at the club.<\/p>\n

They have just announced that former Kent batter and coach Matt Walker will replace Farbrace as head coach from next season. Walker is currently on the coaching staff at Warwickshire.<\/p>\n

Having beaten Glamorgan, Yorkshire are now bidding to get on a roll as they target a top-three finish in Group B for knockout qualification next month.<\/p>\n

They sailed through the group stage with seven wins and a defeat last year, with Bean keen for victory at Sussex so that something similar can be achieved in 2026.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe got on a bit of a roll last year, and it\u2019s using that momentum to build confidence.\u00a0Glamorgan, it was a bit of a dogged win, and sometimes you need something like that to get going in a competition. So, fingers crossed we can take it forwards.\u201d<\/p>\n
