The Strokes<\/a> celebrated the release of their new album, Reality Awaits, with a huge show at Red Rocks in Denver, Colorado.<\/p>\n The legendary New York band are currently on the North American leg of their world tour in support of the album, and at Red Rocks, they performed their new track \u2018Dine N\u2019 Dash\u2019 live for the very first time.<\/p>\n Surprisingly, despite the show taking place just hours before Reality Awaits was finally available for everybody to hear, they chose against leaning heavily into the record.<\/p>\n Rather than play a whole series of songs that fans have yet to get accustomed to, The Strokes only played \u2018Dine N\u2019 Dash\u2019 and lead single \u2018Going Shopping\u2019 from the new release.<\/p>\n While they had previously played \u2018Falling Out Of Love\u2019 on numerous occasions, which was also released as a single, it hasn\u2019t featured at any of their shows since June 26th in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n In Far Out\u2019s review of Reality Awaits, \u2018Dine N\u2019 Dash\u2019 was awarded as the stand-out track on the album in a positive three-and-a-half star assessment<\/a> of the record.<\/p>\n The review noted, \u201cFor anyone concerned that\u00a0Reality Awaits\u00a0would serve as the death knell for The Strokes\u2019 credibility or existence, the truth is that there are still flashes of virtually everything they\u2019ve done before, plus new ideas that they\u2019re keen to experiment with to keep things fresh. But hey, you\u2019ve already made your mind up, haven\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n Another track from Reality Awaits that is making headlines is \u2018Lonely in the Future\u2019, which sees Julian Casablancas take another shot<\/a> at music critic Anthony Fantano.<\/p>\n On the song, the frontman sings, \u201cI heard that twenty fucking years ago, I did Fantano, word for word, when I was a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n The lyrics then add, \u201cStick to the technical, \u2019cause that\u2019s great, but you would not recognise art in any age.\u201d<\/p>\n In response to the public call-out, Fantano has taken to X to soothe things, writing, \u201cJust for the record, before I gotta get into the thick of it, The Strokes are one of my fav bands of the 2000s and no comments, lyrics, drama, or otherwise will ever change that.\u201d<\/p>\n Watch \u2018Dine N\u2019 Dash\u2019 get its live debut below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
