\n In the opening game of the Hundred for both the Spirit and the Super Giants, the latter set the former 138 to win at the Home of Cricket.\n<\/p>\n
\n Livingstone took 2 wickets for 14 runs as the Super Giants amassed their score \u2013 Tim Seifert top-scored with 67 off 47 deliveries for the Manchester-based franchise in their batting innings.\n<\/p>\n
\n In the chase, matters got thrilling thanks to Livingstone\u2019s impressive innings, but the Barrovian could not get his new side over the line.\n<\/p>\n
\n He was eventually bowled by Sonny Baker with the Spirit needing nine runs off three balls.\n<\/p>\n
\n Talking after the game, Livingstone, according to Sky Sports<\/a>, said: \u201cWe couldn’t get over the line, a little disappointed.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cIt was a good game of cricket. Just a shame we fell short.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \n He added: \u201cIt was one of those pitches where they were probably about par. We just got ourselves too far behind the run rate to catch up at the end.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cLike I said, a little bit rusty and disappointed. We bowled some really good stuff through the middle and dragged them back towards the end. It’s a pretty decent start, and hopefully we can build on this.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \n The Barrovian moved to the London Spirit from the Birmingham Phoenix \u2013 who he had represented in every edition of The Hundred since its beginning.\n<\/p>\n \n He was announced as the Spirit\u2019s captain in June<\/a> and runs the show at Lord\u2019s alongside world-class head coach Andy Flower.\n<\/p>\n
