{"id":711995,"date":"2026-07-26T12:55:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T12:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/711995\/"},"modified":"2026-07-26T12:55:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T12:55:15","slug":"cairngorm-wildfire-evacuated-residents-allowed-to-return-to-nethy-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/711995\/","title":{"rendered":"Cairngorm wildfire: Evacuated residents allowed to return to Nethy Bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Residents who were evacuated from a village in the Cairngorms have been allowed to return home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Nethy Bridge homes were evacuated on Friday night but Police Scotland said on Saturday evening that the fire was no longer considered a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c2k7g15v3epo\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">major incident<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The blaze has raged for the past 12 days and led to the evacuation of homes in the remote village.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">On Saturday night, Supt Judy Hill, of Police Scotland, said there was &#8220;no longer the immediate threat which prompted the evacuation of properties in Nethy Bridge.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">This is thanks to the efforts of &#8220;fire crews, gamekeepers, contractors, partners and many others over the past 24 hours,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Residents who were evacuated from a village in the Cairngorms have been allowed to return home.
