{"id":712927,"date":"2026-07-27T03:01:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T03:01:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/712927\/"},"modified":"2026-07-27T03:01:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T03:01:11","slug":"maybank-users-become-first-in-malaysia-to-make-samsung-wallet-qr-payments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/712927\/","title":{"rendered":"Maybank Users Become First in Malaysia to Make Samsung Wallet QR Payments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Free Newsletter<\/p>\n<p>Get the hottest Fintech Malaysia News once a month in your Inbox<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fintechnews.my\/tag\/Maybank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Maybank<\/a> users in Malaysia are the first in the country to make QR payments through <a href=\"https:\/\/fintechnews.my\/tag\/Samsung\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Samsung Wallet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible Galaxy users can launch Maybank\u2019s MAE Scan &amp; Pay from the digital wallet before completing transactions through the banking app.<\/p>\n<p>The service supports QR payments in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>   <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/4eQc2Zy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#13;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2307-Webinar-Temenos-600x500-ezgif.com-optimize-1.gif\" width=\"600\" height=\"500\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The feature began rolling out on 21 July 2026 and is available on eligible Samsung Galaxy smartphones with the latest wallet and software updates.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-59785\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Charles-Kim-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Charles Kim\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"\/>Charles Kim<\/p>\n<p>Charles Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics, said,<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cOur partnership with Maybank represents a significant step forward in expanding the Samsung Wallet ecosystem in Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>By bringing QR payments directly into Samsung Wallet, we\u2019re making everyday transactions even more effortless, allowing users to simply swipe, scan and pay within seconds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-59784\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Mohd-Amri-Mohd-Sofian-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Mohd Amri Mohd Sofian\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"  \/>Mohd Amri Mohd Sofian<\/p>\n<p>Mohd Amri Mohd Sofian, Head of Community Financial Services Malaysia at Maybank, said,<\/p>\n<p>By integrating Maybank\u2019s MAE Scan &amp; Pay functionality directly into Samsung Wallet, we are bringing greater convenience to customers while maintaining the security and reliability they expect from Maybank.<\/p>\n<p>This collaboration reflects our commitment to advancing digital innovation through strategic ecosystem partnerships that make everyday banking simpler, faster and more accessible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Users can also earn Samsung Rewards points on eligible transactions.
