Samsung&#8217;s first attempt is the result of a collaboration with Google, Qualcomm alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sammobile.com\/news\/samsung-qualcomm-partnership-stronger-than-ever\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"16669215\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>The company has shed more light on its philosophy behind this product, and how its smart glasses will differentiate themselves from Meta&#8217;s.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nIts technological prowess comes in handy\n<\/p>\n<p>Samsung Electronics Head of Extended Reality Research &amp; Development Team Choi Jae-in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.koreatimes.co.kr\/amp\/business\/tech-science\/20260726\/samsung-seeks-smart-glasses-edge-over-meta-with-smartphone-expertise\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">said<\/a> during a press briefing after Unpacked earlier this week that the company&#8217;s smart glasses are a \u201cwearable device made by a smartphone specialist.\u201d They&#8217;re not intended to replace smartphones but to extend the mobile experience.\n<\/p>\n<p>Choi highlighted that as the first smartphone brand to enter the smart glasses market, Samsung&#8217;s technological prowess will enable it to deliver a lightweight and comfortable experience while delivering features users expect.\n<\/p>\n<p>A key difference in Samsung&#8217;s product will lie in what Choi described as \u201cmobile-grade quality assurance.\u201d Samsung has tested the durability and reliability of smart glasses upon the same standards it uses for smartphones, including drop tests, harsh outdoor conditions, and even chemicals such as sunscreen and cosmetics. Samsung also created 20 new testing methods for the smart glasses to ensure exceptional durability.\n<\/p>\n<p>Compared to Meta, Choi said that Samsung is taking a \u201cdifferent approach and different technological direction\u201d for its smart glasses.
