Stunt performer Devyn Dalton<\/a> has offered insight into her acclaimed performance doubling for Matt Damon in Christopher Nolan\u2019s The Odyssey<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The 34-year-old\u2019s involvement in the film was recently praised by Damon<\/a>, who described Dalton as having \u201cthe greatest arms I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 4-foot-5-inch actor faces off against 7-foot-tall stunt performers playing giants in one of the film\u2019s most memorable sequences<\/a>. The scene also features on a promotional poster for the blockbuster retelling of Homer\u2019s epic Greek poem.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the New York Post, <\/a>Dalton described the use of \u201cforced perspective\u201d in her scenes as \u201cmovie magic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dalton has been performing in stunt roles since 2011\u2019s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and maintains a strict regime of yoga, weight training, boxing and weapon work because she never knows when she might get asked to join a production.<\/p>\n

\u201cPhysically, I\u2019m always ready to go because you get the phone call and have to be ready,\u201d said Dalton. \u201cSometimes you only get a week\u2019s notice.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that her role in The Odyssey<\/a> had come after years of building relationships in Hollywood, explaining: \u201cOpportunities like this come from building trust and [having] a strong reputation in the industry. It doesn\u2019t just happen overnight. It takes so long and I spent my entire career [preparing] for this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dalton also thanked Damon <\/a>for giving her credit for her role in bringing Odysseus to the screen<\/a>, saying: \u201cI\u2019m so overwhelmed that he gave a shoutout into how it works. It\u2019s about time more information comes out about this.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that stunt work is often perceived to be a male profession, and asked: \u201cThey often say \u2018stuntman\u2019, but what about stuntwomen? It\u2019s been a really long journey paving the way… There\u2019s been a lot of women who have opened the doors, but it\u2019s an ongoing battle always. I hope to continue to pave the way for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast earlier this week, Damon explained <\/a>how stunt doubles were used for the scenes involving the Laestrygonians, a race of giant cannibals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were these stuntmen who were all seven feet and then they got stunt men who were under five feet,\u201d said Damon. \u201cMy double was a woman, a female stunt performer who had the greatest arms I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cThere are those shots where you see these giants looming over me.
