As one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year, Dune: Part Three has a lot of hype to live up to. That enthusiasm was ramped up with the release of the trailers<\/a>, but some fans may be disappointed by the lack of screen time for one character.<\/p>\n

The upcoming film is based on Frank Herbert’s 1969 novel Dune Messiah, with the epic sci-fi<\/a> intended to be the final instalment of Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy. Like before, the Canadian filmmaker has co-written the screenplay.<\/p>\n

While cast members such as Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet and Zendaya will likely get plenty of screen time due to their respective roles as Paul Atreides and Chani, actors like Rebecca Ferguson will be supporting players. <\/p>\n

Ferguson’s return as Lady Jessica was confirmed in October<\/a> despite the character being a background figure in Herbert’s original novel. But fans were hoping that the figure may be given a bigger role in the film adaptation.<\/p>\n

It looks like they’ll be disappointed though, as Ferguson has stated that her role in Dune: Part Three will be minimal. The part is so short, in fact, that the actor reckons most people have already “seen it”.<\/p>\n

Speaking to ExtraTV<\/a> at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, the star said of her upcoming role: “I’ve got one scene, and I think you’ve seen it. It’s literally in the trailer. But I can’t wait to see it. The script’s amazing.”<\/p>\n

This may not come as a huge surprise given Lady Jessica’s role in Dune Messiah, with Ferguson previously telling IndieWire<\/a> in October: “I don’t have a big part in this one, [Lady Jessica is] just barely in the book.<\/p>\n

“I’m not sure I was supposed to be in it and Denis had a little idea. The script is phenomenal\u2026 There’s so much to tell. [Denis] does dip in and out\u2026 he does want to have certain connections and tentacles to the book.”<\/p>\n

In addition to the aforementioned names, the stacked cast for the film includes Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin.<\/p>\n

Dune: Part Three is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 18 December.<\/p>\n
