The report also highlighted stronger festive-season expectations among retailers in southern India.

Temporary disruption

When surveyed about concerns ahead of the festive season, 36 per cent of southern retailers said they were worried, compared with 55 per cent of retailers in northern states. The northern and eastern regions are facing the highest levels of stress.

“The shock is national, but its bite is regional,” the report said

Published on July 27, 2026

Industry sources viewed the trend as a temporary disruption rather than a structural shift, given India’s population distribution…

[16
2306,236761,236762,86,56,54,55
post-714738","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mobile","tag-mobile","tag-retailer-pulse","tag-southern-states","tag-technology","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
