Bloc Party<\/a> have shared their new single \u2018Now We Can\u2019t Be Friends\u2019 and details of a UK record store tour \u2013 check them out below.<\/p>\n

The latest taster from their upcoming album \u2018Anatomy Of A Brief Romance\u2019 sees frontman Kele Okereke<\/a> \u201cheading back out clubbing again\u201d after a romantic break-up and \u201cnot speaking to his ex when he sees him on the dancefloor\u201d on the synth driven track.<\/p>\n

Okereke added: \u201cYou can have these big feelings, but you have to be aware that when they go, this is how you\u2019ll feel and, you\u2019ll be OK with that.\u201d You can listen to it below.<\/p>\n

It follows previous singles \u2018Love Bombs<\/a>\u2019 and \u2018Coming On Strong<\/a>\u2019 and continues the album\u2019s \u201cchronological portrait of a love affair, and progresses right from the first glances through to the heartbreak and final farewell\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Spread out across 14 songs and produced by Trevor Horn<\/a> (Grace Jones<\/a>, Pet Shop Boys<\/a>, Frankie Goes To Hollywood<\/a>), the record is structured like a memoir from frontman Okereke and features some of the most personal songs he has ever written. It marks the seventh album from Bloc Party, following on from 2022\u2019s \u2018Alpha Games<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with its release, the band will also hit the road for a series of record store shows kicking off at Wax and Beans in Bury on September 9, with a stop at Rough Trade East in London on September 15. You can purchase tickets here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, last spring, Okereke told NME about what fans could expect from their upcoming seventh album, sharing that it would be \u201cdisco heartbreak\u201d inspired<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a record about heartbreak, really \u2013 that\u2019s the only thing I can say about it at this stage. Hopefully it will be out next year, but we\u2019ll see,\u201d he said, also going on to share what it was like to work with iconic producer Trevor Horn.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s made some of my favourite records of all time, so it\u2019s quite interesting to hear what he has to say. He\u2019s been making records for most of his life, for over 50 years, so he seems to know all the tricks.
