A secret part of the new Spider-Man film <\/a>might have accidentally been spoiled by one of the movie\u2019s musicians.<\/p>\n

During a red carpet interview at Monday\u2019s Los Angeles premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>, singer Steve Lacy \u2014 whose song \u201coh yeah?\u201d <\/a>is featured in the film \u2014 was asked which character was his favorite in the fourth installment of the superhero franchise.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of all of the characters in the film you\u2019re aware of and, without spoiling anything, who is your favorite? Or who are you most excited to see?\u201d the interviewer asked Lacy, 28, on the carpet.<\/p>\n

Lacy took a second to think before responding.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know what? Jean,\u201d Lacy answered. \u201cI like Jean. She\u2019s the villain but there\u2019s a reason to her madness.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reporter, who looked stunned, asked him, \u201cIs that a spoiler?\u201d but the \u201cBad Habit\u201d singer did not respond to the question. <\/p>\n

It did not take long for fans to latch on to Steve\u2019s admission and take it as confirmation that franchise newcomer Sadie Sink is playing X-Men\u2019s telekinetic mutant Jean Grey <\/a>in the movie \u2014 and that she will be revealed as a villain.<\/p>\n

Speculation over Sink\u2019s role in the fourth Spider-Man film <\/a>has been rampant after her casting was first reported in March 2025, but her character\u2019s name had been kept under wraps as Marvel did not release any official information about the Stranger Things star\u2019s part <\/a>in the iconic franchise.<\/p>\n

Now, fans are stunned that Lacy appeared to reveal the big secret so casually after years of Sink, 24, holding it in.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way Sadie has been dodging spoilers all press tour only for Steve Lacy to drop it like it\u2019s nothing\u2026 girl is in the trenches rn,\u201d one person wrote on X. Another added, \u201cBro just needed one interview to destroy everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another said that \u201che can\u2019t be serious,\u201d with one person adding: \u201cIt was funny but I’m genuinely dumbfounded by how stupid he is. Slipping up a spoiler happens all the time sure, but if you see the clip of this guy Steve Lacy that is not normal.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, some fans are still optimistic that Lacy might have been referring to Lisa Col\u00f3n-Zayas\u2019s character, who was previously reported to be Captain Jean DeWolff, a NYPD detective.<\/p>\n

A representative for Lacy did not immediately return The Independent\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n
