Sergey Lapin, Anthony Joshua’s trainer, has brutally dismissed Simon Jordan’s reaction to his KO win over Kristian Prenga.<\/p>\n

Joshua was dropped twice in the opening round<\/a> of his comeback fight with Albanian Prenga in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

But the British heavyweight survived and rallied in the second round to secure an emphatic stoppage win<\/a> of his own.<\/p>\n

In the immediate aftermath of the clash, Jordan had suggested something ‘wasn’t right’ about the chaotic opening two rounds.<\/p>\n

He implied that the outcome was related to the pending financial blockbuster with Tyson Fury<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And now Joshua’s recent cornerman Sergey Lapin is also having none of it, aiming a brutal dig at Jordan.<\/p>\n

Lapin told Action Network<\/a>: “What do I think of Simon Jordan\u2019s comments? <\/p>\n

“I suppose they also told Prenga to walk straight into a punch that weighed one-and-a-half tonnes.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone is entitled to their own theories. I have a friend who still believes the Earth is flat and that space doesn\u2019t exist.<\/p>\n

\u201cPersonally, I\u2019d rather discuss what actually happened inside the ring than someone else\u2019s imagination.\u201d<\/p>\n

The suggestions have been rubbished, and for Joshua it is just a moment of relief after some hairy moments.<\/p>\n

He was simply delighted immediately after climbing from the canvas to win, and turned his attention towards a meeting with the ‘Gypsy King’.<\/p>\n

Of course for AJ it was a scary moment, with Prenga threatening to create one of the most seismic upsets in boxing history.<\/p>\n

Fears are that Joshua is now looking beyond his best which culminated in the first round disaster.<\/p>\n

However Lapin, who is a member of Oleksandr Usyk<\/a>‘s team who have been training Joshua, wants to instead take the positives.<\/p>\n

He continued: “You can\u2019t judge a fighter based on one round.<\/p>\n

“The first round gives you information, it doesn\u2019t deliver a verdict. Yes, there were things we didn\u2019t like, and we\u2019ll analyse them carefully.<\/p>\n
