Daniel Ricciardo<\/a> was taken to hospital after a minor motorcycle injury earlier this week. It’s claimed the ex-F1 star was riding the bike in his home country of Australia when the incident took place.<\/p>\n

It’s said the eight-time grand prix victor was riding his dirt bike in the Australian state of northern Queensland when he suffered the injury. The 36-year-old was riding through the region of Daintree when the incident occurred, but details on how the accident came about are still unknown.<\/p>\n

He has been out of the spotlight since being dropped from the VCARB<\/a> team last year, with talk that he could make a return to the track. Speaking about his time as a driver, Ricciardo recently said: “It took me a long time to realise I was actually doing it because, yeah, it’s a dream and you think about it as a kid.<\/p>\n

“And when you’re there and you make it, you’re like, ‘Wow.’ It happens very quick, but I mean obviously, I’m very appreciative for the career that I had and very grateful to do what I loved for some time.”<\/p>\n

When quizzed on if he’ll ever be able to substitute the high of racing again, he added: “No… so that’s what I’ll… second half of my life I’ll try and find that another way, I guess.”<\/p>\n

Ricciardo has been consistently linked to a return to F1, with new team on the block, Cadillac, among those spoken about as a potential destination. However, team principal Graeme Lowdon quickly moved to rule out a potential Ricciardo move, stating it would be the “wrong person” to sign the former Red Bull<\/a> man.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the High Performance Podcast, he added: \u201cIf I need to convince someone, then it\u2019s the wrong person.” He also said: \u201cYeah, actually, I think he\u2019s publicly said that he\u2019s not interested in Formula 1.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back on the track, racing is set to resume in the Netherlands later this month when drivers return after the summer break. It’s currently a McLaren<\/a> top two in the drviers standings, with Oscar Piastri leading the way ahead of team-mate Lando Norris<\/a>.
