\u201cBefore we were a business, we were \u2018up to no good\u2019,\u201d the co-op says, citing involvement in environmental protests in the 1990s and \u201cagitprop\u201d \u2013 agitation propaganda \u2013 in the 2000s.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you\u2019ve seen the ubiquitous 3-arrow antifascist design you\u2019ve seen our work,\u201d they said, adding: \u201cWe aren\u2019t just a shop; we\u2019re dedicated to equality, solidarity, and high-quality trouble-making.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Sabcat describes itself as \u201cAnarchist Tory-hating workers\u201d.<\/p>\n
Advertising the guillotine T-shirt, the website wrote: \u201cWho could Nigel be? And why the guillotine?<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether it\u2019s a nod to the XTC classic or a sharper bit of political satire, this design is for those who prefer their statements with a side of mystery.\u201d<\/p>\n
The phrase on the T-shirt originates from a 1979 song of the same name by English rock band XTC.<\/p>\n
The garment had retailed at \u00a320, with Sabcat saying profits would go toward funding garment-worker solidarity campaigns and supporting trade unions. \u201cWear your values,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n
It is unclear whether the man who wore the garment to the Green Party event bought the item from Sabcat.<\/p>\n
Andrew Bennetts, a former director of Sabcat, said the co-operative had long used screen printing to provoke a reaction.<\/p>\n
\u2018It\u2019s comedy\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s comedy,\u201d he said. \u201cI know somebody else has done a version of the T-shirt now with \u2018Nigel is so vain he thinks this T-shirt is about him\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Bennetts, who left the co-operative eight years ago, said his former business partner Andrew Fox was now the driving force of the operation.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think he mainly prints for other people now and he bangs up the odd design himself.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked whether the XTC lyric could be Mr Fox\u2019s handiwork, he said: \u201cHe\u2019s a big music fan, but the whole thing is just tongue in cheek bulls—.<\/p>\n
\u201cFarage has shared it because it\u2019s anything so \u2018people don\u2019t look at the \u00a35m I\u2019ve had\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
