A Slough man has been charged after an elephant sculpture on Thames Hospice\u2019s Trunks Across the Thames trail was damaged.<\/p>\n
Thames Valley Police launched an investigation following reports that a colourful elephant sculpture, named Hidden Treasures, had been damaged outside The Curve in the town centre.<\/p>\n
A herd of 30 elephants is currently stationed around Slough and Windsor as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the end-of-life care Thames Hospice provides.<\/p>\n
Faisal Mohammed, 31, of Lerwick Drive, Slough, has been charged with criminal damage and outraging public decency in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n
He is set to appear at East Berkshire Magistrates Court on August 28.<\/p>\n
A Thames Hospice spokesperson said: \u201cWe are very grateful to Thames Valley Police for their swift action in investigating this incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cTrunks across the Thames has been incredibly well received by local communities, with thousands of people enjoying the trail across Slough and Windsor.\u201d<\/p>\n
The hospice said its dedicated team worked alongside the sculpture\u2019s artist, Millery Wheeler, to repair and replace the sculpture.<\/p>\n
