Gemma Collins<\/a> has said her heart is \u2018shattered into a million pieces\u2019 as she shared the news that her mum Joan<\/a> has died.<\/p>\n

The Only Way is Essex star, 45, previously told followers how her mum, 70, had been diagnosed with pneumonia<\/a>\u00a0twice in the last six months.<\/p>\n

Collins penned a heartfelt tribute on Instagram<\/a> on Wednesday night, saying that the former hairdresser, who was beloved by fans of the ITV reality show, had died that day.<\/p>\n

She wrote: \u2018My heart is shattered into a million pieces. Today our beautiful mum passed away peacefully surrounded by LOVE. Mum, today, every piece of my heart left with you.<\/p>\n

\u2018No words will ever be enough to thank you for loving me, guiding me, and being my mum. You gave me life, you gave me strength, and you gave me memories that I will carry for every day I have left.<\/p>\n

\u2018The house will never sound the same without you. Your voice, your smile, your little ways, they are woven into every corner of my life.\u2019<\/p>\n

Collins went on to say that she would miss her mum \u2018more than she could put into words\u2019 and suggested that health woes in recent months had left Joan with limited mobility. <\/p>\n

She continued: \u2018I hope you are finally free from pain. I hope you can walk again, laugh again, and feel light. I hope you are surrounded by peace and by everyone who has gone before you, watching over us with love.<\/p>\n

\u2018Thank you for every hug, every sacrifice, every lesson, and every moment. Thank you for being my mum. It has been the greatest privilege to be your daughter.<\/p>\n

\u2018Until we meet again, I will carry your love with me. I will look for you in the sunrise, in the flowers, in the birds singing, and in the quiet\u00a0moments when I need you most. Sleep peacefully, my beautiful Mum.<\/p>\n

In the comments section underneath the post, Collins was inundated with well-wishers, including from Elton John<\/a>, who wrote: \u2018So sad to hear. Our thoughts are with you and your family,\u2019 and Stormzy<\/a>, who commented a string of heart emojis.<\/p>\n

Fellow I\u2019m A Celebrity alum Lisa Riley wrote: \u2018My heart breaks for you. Our Mums went to heaven on exactly the same day.\u2019<\/p>\n

Megan McKenna said her \u2018heart breaks\u2019 for Collins, while Amy Childs commented \u2018what a beautiful lady her mum was\u2019.<\/p>\n

Dani Dyer wrote: \u2018Oh Gemma I\u2019m so so sorry, thinking of you,\u2019 while Lauren Goodger commented: \u2018So sorry Gem. Thinking of you and sending you so much love my darling, thinking of you all xx.\u2019<\/p>\n

In November, Collins asked fans to pray for her mum<\/a>, who had been hospitalised with pneumonia, in what she described as \u2018the toughest week\u2019 of her life.<\/p>\n

In May the year before, Joan was rushed to hospital after\u00a0she \u2018stopped breathing\u2019\u00a0<\/a>following a\u00a0breast cancer<\/a>\u00a0scare, which prompted Collins to get screened.<\/p>\n

At the time, Collins said she had been warned to \u2018prepare for the worst\u2019, but her mum pulled through.<\/p>\n
