\n Chris Gurton, from Great Cornard, specialises in agricultural photography and has been recognised for his aerial work using his drone.\n<\/p>\n
\n His photo depicting potato ridging won the drone category in the Golden Shot International photography awards and was also selected as one of the best images in this year’s International Aerial Photographer of the Year awards.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I’m my own biggest critic. I never really like to shout about my work.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It’s nice to know that my work is good, and it gives you the motivation to keep at it,” Chris said.\n<\/p>\n

\n He was one of only three UK photographers selected for the yearbook for the International Aerial Photographer of the Year awards.\n<\/p>\n
\n Chris said: \u201cEast Anglia as a whole is such a vital area for agriculture and the production of food, whether it’s wheat to harvest or potatoes or onions or sugar beet.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIf my photos help provoke a conversation about where food comes from, I think that’s important.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n He follows farmers across the year, and tells a story of what happens from the start of the year right through to harvest, depicting locations such as Assington, Bures and Stanstead.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIt shows that it’s not a nine-to-five job. The work that goes into producing food for people goes on all year round, and it’s nice to have something like that, particularly from this area,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n
\n Chris sees pastoral photography as his niche, and he uses aerial photography to give people insights into the world of agriculture they otherwise wouldn\u2019t have.\n<\/p>\n
