Sony attracted 125 million monthly active users to PlayStation<\/a>, accurate as of the end of Q1 2026, which ended on 30th June.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s an increase of 2% year-over-year, when it achieved 123 million monthly active users during the same period in 2025.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s actually down on the previous quarter, which hit 126 million monthly active users, although it\u2019s normal to see the numbers lull during the spring and summer months.<\/p>\n

This means the firm is on track to break records this Christmas, with GTA 6<\/a> likely to push it beyond last year\u2019s Q3 high of 133 million monthly active users.<\/p>\n

PlayStation has attributed monthly active users as a key metric moving forward, as the engagement tends to correlate with increased spending. It\u2019s forecasting a record breaking fiscal year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of note, the company\u2019s network services category \u2013 which includes PS Plus<\/a> subscriptions \u2013 is performing extremely well right now.<\/p>\n

For the quarter ending 30th June, it contributed \u00a5208.6 billion (~$1.3 billion) in sales, which is up over 20% year-over-year, and higher than any previous quarter in its last fiscal year.<\/p>\n

That number is likely to absolutely explode over Christmas, assuming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4<\/a> lands.<\/p>\n
