William Shatner<\/a> appears to have revealed that he and his new heavy metal band The *uckers will perform at\u00a0Coachella 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 95-year-old\u00a0Star Trek<\/a>\u00a0star\u00a0is preparing to appear at Riot Fest in Chicago next month<\/a>, where he will preview material from his forthcoming album with the new group, \u2018What The F Is Heavy Metal\u2019.<\/p>\n

Now, in an interview with\u00a0CNN<\/a>,\u00a0Shatner\u00a0has\u00a0leaked the\u00a0band\u2019s\u00a0apparent\u00a0booking\u00a0for next year\u2019s Coachella,\u00a0despite the fact that\u00a0no artists have been officially confirmed for the California festival at this stage.<\/p>\n

Explaining his new venture into metal, he said: \u201cIt\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0so much, \u2018When do I come in?\u2019, but\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0got to feel the music and then come in with the lyrics.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0all about passion.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then referenced\u00a0The\u00a0*uckers\u2019 slot at Riot Fest, before adding that they would also be playing \u201cthe one in the desert\u201d next spring, which his daughter Melanie Shatner Gretsch confirmed was Coachella.<\/p>\n

When interviewer Elex Michaelson responded with shock,\u00a0Shatner\u00a0confirmed that the group\u00a0have\u00a0been booked to play a 30-minute set.<\/p>\n

Coachella will return to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California over two weekends<\/a>, running from April 9 to 11 and April 16 to 18. Shatner will have turned 96 by the time of the event.<\/p>\n

Before then, The *uckers, who also include guitarist and musical director Marcus Nand, guitarist Britt Lightning, bassist Phil Soussan and drummer Fred Aching, will make their live debut at Riot Fest in Chicago\u2019s Douglass Park on Sunday September 20.<\/p>\n

Last month,\u00a0Shatner\u00a0shared the outrageous list of rider demands for the show<\/a>, including an introductory film created by\u00a0GWAR<\/a>, \u201cmany\u201d fire-breathers, a DeLorean to carry him to the stage, four feet of Polish sausage and an assortment of adoptable\u00a0puppies.<\/p>\n

As well as the metal project, Shatner has also announced a separate spoken-word album titled \u2018Love & Other Mysteries\u2019, produced by Brad Paisley, which will be released on August 21 via Loaded Goat Records and UMG.<\/p>\n

Despite his advancing years,\u00a0Shatner\u00a0has continued to enjoy a busy working schedule. He became\u00a0the oldest person to go into space as part of the Blue Origin rocket flight in 2021<\/a>, while he also\u00a0appeared at the Saturn Awards last February to receive their lifetime achievement award<\/a>, where he spoke about his affinity for space exploration.<\/p>\n
