\n The Canada international, making his first appearance of the summer after returning from the World Cup, went down just minutes after coming off the bench with what appeared to be a serious knee injury, leaving Philippe Clement visibly distraught in the technical area.\n<\/p>\n
\n Harry Darling’s close-range finish had given City the lead just after the hour mark, but Raul Garcia restored parity from the penalty spot after Jack Stacey was penalised for a mistimed challenge.\n<\/p>\n
\n The visitors completed the turnaround in stoppage time when Asier Bonel lofted a composed finish over Vladan Kovacevic to snatch victory.\n<\/p>\n
\n Pelle Mattsson’s absence was the headline team news, with the Dane sidelined by a minor hip injury. He received an injection earlier this week, but the club remain confident he will be ready for the start of the competitive season.\n<\/p>\n
\n Marquee signing Andre Brooks was named in the starting XI for his home debut, while Mohamed Toure and Ahmed were among the substitutes after linking back up with the squad last weekend following their World Cup involvement.\n<\/p>\n
\n The hosts started brightly on a splendid summer afternoon. Ben Chrisene found fellow full-back Stacey in space down the right, but his deep cross curled beyond the far post.\n<\/p>\n

\n Jacob Wright forced the first save of the game inside five minutes after finding space in the middle of the pitch, but the midfielder’s long-range effort was beaten away by Aitor Fernandez.\n<\/p>\n
\n The Osasuna goalkeeper could do nothing to prevent the ball finding the net on 15 minutes after a slick Norwich move. Paris Maghoma danced his way towards the edge of the penalty area before feeding Oscar Schwartau, whose first-time pass released Chrisene. The left-back drilled a low cross into the six-yard box for Brooks to convert, only for the assistant referee’s offside flag to cut short the celebrations.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mathias Kvistgaarden’s relentless pressing almost created the breakthrough moments later. The striker robbed an Osasuna defender in the right channel before delivering a teasing cross that was just beyond the outstretched Maghoma.\n<\/p>\n
\n Despite City’s dominance, it was the La Liga visitors who came closest to opening the scoring on the half-hour mark. Lucas Torro rose unmarked from a corner but guided his free header wide of the target.\n<\/p>\n
\n Kvistgaarden was then penalised for a foul on Moises Gomez in a dangerous area. Ruben Garcia stepped up, but his free-kick drifted wide of Kovacevic’s right-hand post.\n<\/p>\n
\n The intensity of Clement’s side dipped slightly as the interval approached, although they threatened from a set-piece after Wright was brought down. Kenny McLean’s free-kick took a deflection off the wall and looped behind for a corner.\n<\/p>\n
\n Maghoma then blazed over from the edge of the area a minute before the break as the sides went into half-time level.\n<\/p>\n
\n Clement made one change at the interval, with Matej Jurasek replacing Brooks, while the visitors made a host of changes.\n<\/p>\n

\n The second half took time to spark into life, but the breakthrough arrived on the hour mark. Jose Cordoba won possession in the middle of the pitch before feeding Jurasek on the right. The Czech winger produced an inviting delivery with the outside of his boot that fell kindly for Darling, who bundled home from close range.\n<\/p>\n
\n Norwich’s lead lasted only a matter of minutes. Stacey was adjudged to have mistimed a challenge inside the penalty area, and Raul Garcia made no mistake from the spot, sending Kovacevic the wrong way to draw the visitors level.\n<\/p>\n
\n It was the first goal City had conceded during pre-season, and the Spanish opponents almost completed the turnaround soon after when Aimar Oroz’s delicate effort from the edge of the box crashed back off the crossbar.\n<\/p>\n
\n The afternoon then took a far more concerning turn. Ahmed, only minutes into his first outing, attempted to bring down a long diagonal pass but jarred his knee in the turf. The wide man immediately signalled for treatment before limping off with the support of two members of Norwich’s medical staff.\n<\/p>\n
\n There was a final sucker punch in the closing stages. Bonel got in behind the home defence and calmly lifted the ball over Kovacevic to condemn City to their first defeat of pre-season.\n<\/p>\n
\n The Canaries round off their preparations on Tuesday afternoon with a behind-closed-doors clash against Cambridge United at Colney before their competitive campaign begins against MK Dons in the Carabao Cup next Saturday.\n<\/p>\n
